Favorite Books

I received an anonymous comment on my last entry, asking me to post a list of my favorite books. Because I'm a sucker for reading, and for coercing people to read books I love, I was more than happy to oblige! These books are my absolute favorites, or ones I've really enjoyed. 1. You mentioned a bunch of my favourites, but three of my all time favourites weren't on your list:

    Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta
Looking for Alaska by John Green
    Paper Towns by John Green

If you haven't read them, you should (with Jellicoe Road, it's confusing at first but totally worth it and the summary doesn't do the book justice at all). <3

  3. Tracy, you are so very welcome! I read your book a while ago, and have never been able to get it out of my head. B&N never has it when I actually have money, but one of these days I'll just order it online. I've been dying to reread it again (for the forth time, I think). You're incredibly talented, and it means a lot you'd even take the time to comment on my little ol' blog. Thank you for making my day :-)

  4. Thank you for making my day, Sammy! If you ever do order it, "Daughter of the Game" was released in trade "Secrets of a Lady", with a few minor tweaks about about 15 new pages of letters between the characters. As you may know, "Beneath a Silent Moon" is a prequel to "Daughter of the Game," and my new book, "Vienna Waltz" (April 2011) is essentially the story of Charles & Mélanie at the Congress of Vienna, though they have different names. There's tons more info, including more letters between the characters ("Fraser Correspondence") on my website - http://www.tracygrant.org.

    Thanks again!!!

  5. I follow your site pretty religiously :-) I have to say, Beneath a Silent Moon has a GORGEOUS cover! And I am eagerly awaiting Vienna Waltz. I love Melanie's character so much. It'll be nice to see more of her and Charles together.

  6. Great to know you follow the site! As I'm sure you know too, blogging takes a lot of time--it's so nice to realize people are reading one's efforts :-). I've had a lot of beautiful covers, but the trade one for "Beneath a Silent Moon" is a blend of history, suspense, and romance that I think perfectly captures my books. I should be getting the cover art for "Vienna Waltz" soon--I'm really excited to see it!

I'm so glad to hear you like Mélanie. I think "Vienna Waltz" brings out some really interesting sides of her and Charles and their relationship. I learned some new things myself!

  9. Hey, it's Marie, too lazy to go through the process of getting blogspot to recognise my LJ username. *huge sigh*

Anyway! MOCKINGJAY!!! OMG. I am DYING for that book. You did a very good thing when you told me I absolutely had to read it. I'll love you forever.
